PyxTech provides the live market value. Makor Solutions brings that value into the asset workflow so your team can make a better-informed disposition and channel decision.

Knowing what an asset is worth is important. In ITAD, though, it is rarely the final question.

Two laptops with the same make and model can still belong in very different sales channels. One may be ready for e-commerce, another may be better suited to wholesale, while a third may justify repair before it is sold at all.

The difference is everything you already know about the device: its condition, grade, test results, repair requirements and the customer agreement behind it. Current market value adds another important input, but the commercial decision comes from looking at those things together.

That is the next part of the story behind the integration between Makor ERP + Foresight and PyxTech’s PyxARM.

When we announced our partnership with PyxTech in July (link to previous article), the focus was on bringing real-time Fair Market Value intelligence into Makor ERP + Foresight. This time, we want to look at the decision that comes after the valuation.

Value is the starting point

PyxARM provides live Fair Market Value intelligence, giving ITAD teams current market context for the equipment moving through their operation without having to rely only on older pricing information or start a separate research exercise each time a decision needs to be made.

That matters because the secondary market moves. Wholesale and e-commerce values change, and the route that made sense for a device several weeks ago may not be the route that makes sense when it is actually ready to move.

But the operator still needs to understand the asset in front of them.

A device may have a strong current market value, but its grade, test results or repair requirements can change which channel makes commercial sense. A customer agreement may introduce another consideration. In some cases repair could improve the opportunity; in others, the time and cost involved may point toward a different route.

That is why having current market value available alongside the operational asset record matters.

The real decision is where to sell it

Makor ERP + Foresight already connects the information around the asset as it moves through the operation. Bringing PyxTech’s FMV into that same workflow lets the person making the decision consider current market conditions alongside what is already known about the device.

The question becomes:

Given what we know about this asset and what the market says it is worth today, which disposition route or sales channel makes sense?

For one asset, that might be wholesale. Another may justify e-commerce. A device that needs work may make more sense after repair or refurbishment before it reaches a sales channel.

There is no single answer for every device, which is exactly why the context matters.

The aim is not to take the commercial decision away from the person making it. It is to give them better information when they make that decision.

Keep the market decision close to the asset

There is also a practical workflow benefit.

If your team has to review an asset in the ERP, research current pricing somewhere else, compare the two manually and then bring that answer back into the process, additional work has been added around every disposition decision.

That may be manageable for a handful of devices. Across hundreds or thousands of assets, it means more research, more handoffs and greater dependence on the people who know where to find the right information.

By bringing current FMV into Makor ERP + Foresight, the market view sits closer to the asset and the point where your team is already deciding what should happen next.

The asset record provides the operational context. PyxARM provides the current market view. The person making the decision can work with both without separating the valuation from the workflow around the asset.

From value to disposition

This is where we think the partnership becomes particularly useful.

An ITAD operator does not ultimately need a market value sitting next to a device simply for the sake of having another number. They need to understand what that value means for the asset they are actually processing.

Is wholesale the better route? Does e-commerce make sense at this grade? Would repair change the opportunity? Is the market still supporting the route the team might otherwise have chosen?

Those are the questions that sit closer to the commercial outcome.

PyxTech helps answer: what is it worth?

Makor helps put that answer into the operational context needed to decide: where should it go next?
